A two-week workshop designed for community leaders of the Marist African Region recently concluded in Nigeria. The program, entitled "Growing in Prophetic and Servant Leadership towards a New Hermitage," was held at the Marist Brothers Formation Centre at Orlu from 6th to 19th October 2024.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including Community Leadership as outlined in the Marist Constitutions and the Rule of Life, Synodality in the Context of Community, and the Care for Marist Life in Africa. Through collaborative group work, plenary sessions, and practical activities, the community leaders enhanced their competencies in the dynamics of community leadership, addressing contemporary challenges and fostering fraternal engagement.
This workshop was organized by the Secretariat of Brothers Today and brought together 26 participants from the five provinces of the region. At the program, brothers from the Marist Province of West Africa included Brothers Daniel Taylor, Martin Mbeng, Augustine Naatey, Terence Banseka, Michael Telewa, and Conrad Tameh.
As the participants return to their respective provinces and communities, they depart with a renewed sense of purpose and practical expertise, prepared to promote sustainable Marist life in Africa.
